Our History

Select Credit Union was established in 1963 for employees of Sydney County Council (now Energy Australia) and their families. In 1995 membership was extended to the communities covering Sydney, the Central Coast and Hunter regions.

In 1994, the Credit Union’s members voted on a resolution to include the public. For this reason, we changed our name to Select Credit Union and opened our doors to the wider community.

In 2009 Select merged with CSR-Rinker Employees Credit Union.

We are member-owned, which means we are a democratic organisation totally focused on your needs. Once you're a member, you are entitled to an equal say in the running of Select Credit Union, you have the right to vote at Annual General Meetings and for the election of Board Directors - you can even stand for a position on the Board!
